Benjamin Carlisle’s new EP, World, is just what we needed to send off summer properly. Incorporating sultry synths and gorgeous vocals from IRO and Hakos, this Brooklyn based producer gets you in the zone with each of the original productions on this EP.
Starting off World EP with what is sure to be a popular one among the bass and trap community, “Fortune” gives you a taste of what Benjamin Carlisle aspires in his production. Although Carlisle is up and coming, World EP incorporates synth styles comparative to the likes of artists like Whats So Not. Leading with a sexy bassline, you’ll be sure to have this tune play over and over in your head. “Closure,” featuring Brooklyn based singer/songwriter IRO, will create a feeling of bliss within the listener.
Leading back into some more uplifting beats, “All I Want” infuses some happy melodies with a trap bassline that will have you up and dancing. Impressively enough, this track proves that versatility is important to Carlisle from the start of his career. Ending World EP with the gorgeous track “Wave,” which features vocals from Hakos, a house beat accompanies the vocal progression beautifully, yet unlike anything we hear in the previous tracks. With a melodic piano and heavy bassline colliding with Hakos eccentric voice, Carlisle manages to find the perfect balance between bass and house styles.
While Benjamin is new to the EDM world, he is taking it by storm by adding many different sounds to his collection which allows him to be diverse in multiple genres. This EP will appeal to the lover of trap, tropical house and house music perfectly. –Erin Sanders
