Plexos Is Taking Minimal Techno To A Whole New Level

The local techno and house scene has found a steady rise over the last few years. Now, more than ever, our underground scene is bustling with monthly events and a constant stream of new, local music within the electronic music subgenre. Salt Lake–based producer Plexos, who has been killing it in the techno game, is a fine example of what is coming out of our local music industry.

With his collaboration on the Damn Son & Plexos Presents Golden Plates EP, Plexos’ track “Empty Outside” showed his signature minimal style and left his fans instantly wanting more. Recently,  he released a brand new EP titled Through, which showcases his talent in techno & tech house. Beginning the EP with a taste of his darker side, “Intro A,” he takes you on a journey that lets your imagination take over. The track eases throughout a steady, tribal drumbeat while eerie string effects haunt in the background.

Drawing inspiration from coming from artists like Nina Kraviz, Bjarki and Mr. G, Plexos tends to put a lot of emotion into his tracks for what brings him to life. “Every track I make is energy, happiness and darkness smashed into a wave of sound that triggers life in me,” he says. These tracks bring a plethora of sounds that are breaking boundaries in the techno community and creating a sound that is very much his own.

Plexos has been around for sometime with group projects such as Push Play and is now solely focusing on his solo career where he is dominating what techno is all about. Plexos is currently working a new EP called “Abstract Thought” which will take you deeper into the realm of minimal techno.
